The Eden Project Spring Update 2022

The Eden Project is a registered 501 c 3 whose mission is “to provide world class, community-based, reintegration programs for the warrior and his or her support group.”

Our Focus is on Reintegration
With little or no clear definition of reintegration for our service members, we define it as The process of regaining one’s role of self, family member, employee and community member. We achieve this by being mindful of enriched experiences and learning to incorporate them into these roles.

2021 Nonprofit Award of Excellence

It was an enormous honor to have been selected for the 2021 Nonprofit of excellence by the Fayette Chamber of Commerce. Fayette county has dozens of amazing non-profits and to be selected from this field is a distinguishing honor.

This award was made possible through the efforts of our many dedicated volunteers.

The award would not be possible if not for the community support and our dedicated volunteers. This year we awarded three volunteers with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Each one earned a gold medal which requires a minimum of 500 volunteer hours in a year. Major General Carden, the Adjutant General for the Georgia Department of Defense presented the awards.

Awardees are Dr. Kelly Goss, Brooke Taylor, and Dr. Bruce Resnak

2022 Gala at Trillith

Our year started off in a huge way. We were selected as one of the five nonprofits to be highlighted at this year’s gala hosted by Trillith.

In the next few weeks, we will be posting the dates for this year’s Peer to Peer groups, our date night series, volunteer orientation, and mentor training.

We look forward to seeing you at one or all of these events.

Anyone and any ability is welcome! We can help make this workout just right for you.

Michael Patrick Murphy (May 7, 1976 – June 28, 2005) was a United States Navy SEAL lieutenant who was awarded the U.S. military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the War in Afghanistan. He was also the first member of the U.S. Navy to receive the award since the Vietnam War. His other posthumous awards included the Silver Star and Purple Heart.

Michael Murphy was born and raised in Suffolk County, New York. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with honors and dual degrees in political science and psychology. After college he accepted a commission in the United States Navy and became a United States Navy SEAL in July 2002. After participating in several War on Terrorism missions, he was killed on June 28, 2005, after his team was compromised and surrounded by Taliban forces near Asadabad, Afghanistan.
Since his death, a United States Navy destroyer, a post office, a combat training pool at Naval Station Newport, a Sea Cadet unit, a park, and Patchogue-Medford High School have been named in his honor.

Military family shares their heartfelt story of hope.

An Air Force  veteran and Veteran’s Treatment Court (VTC) mentor shares her story.

Brooke is an Air Force veteran and a VTC mentor.

Hundreds of veterans and their families have reached out to The Eden Project for a variety of reasons. We are here to Engage, Encourage and Empower each of them. Help us keep this mission going.

This year we are focused on our mentor program for the Veteran’s Treatment Court. Our cost per mentor is $375. Please consider sponsoring a mentor to support the veteran’s treatment court.
Thank you in advance!
