The Eden Project is a registered 501 c 3 whose mission is “to provide world class, community-based, reintegration programs for the warrior and his or her support group.”

Our Focus is on Reintegration
With little or no clear definition of reintegration for our service members, we define it as The process of regaining one’s role of self, family member, employee and community member. We achieve this by being mindful of enriched experiences and learning to incorporate them into these roles.

2 apples both look the same on the outside bright red, shiny but on the inside…

I have been looking for a story to help people better understand traumatic brain injury (TBI). This simple illustration may help:

Have you ever gotten an apple that at first glance looked perfect? The color was perfect, it was shiny, your mouth watered, and you could almost taste the sweet juiciness before your first bite. But then you picked it up and noticed a soft spot. Wait a minute, this looked like a perfect apple! You took a bite anyway and yuk! What looked like a perfect apple on the outside had a rotten spot hidden just below the skin. This is a TBI!

Those people with a brain injury look like everyone else. The injury is not obvious, not visible unless you take the time to look for it. Most people will never notice the difference until they look closely or begin to interact with someone with a TBI.

You can’t un-bruise an apple nor can you un-damage a brain. But we all can learn to live with an injury AND be respectful of those with a TBI.

Another Dragon Boat Race is in the books!

This year we had an amazing team of veterans and those who support our veterans. This event helps raise awareness and support for our vets and their families. We are taking names now for next year’s teams. Space is limited so sign up now… just kidding. We have LOTS of room, but please, sign up and join one of the fastest growing sports.

October 25th is the next Date Night!
Dr. Steve Hutchinson will lead another fun and entertaining date as we have a fun “game night”. If you are interested in communicating better and growing closer to your spouse, and want to meet other couples, contact us and join one of our date nights.
